Earth USA - Adobe in Action's Biennial Earthbuilding Conference

Earth USA is Adobe in Action's biennial, international conference on architecture and construction with earthen materials. The 3-day formal conference takes place in Santa Fe, New Mexico and attracts presenters and attendees from around the world. The 2022 conference was attended by approximately 170 people representing 15 countries.

Earth USA indicates a wide field of interest in the earthbuilding world and includes adobe, rammed earth, compressed earth block (CEB) and monolithic adobe (cob). Any material or method that uses clay as a binder is considered. Conference activities include:

• three days of podium presentations and poster sessions on topics related to the current state of architecture and construction with earthen materials

• a Friday Evening Reception for all conference attendees sponsored by The Earthbuilders' Guild

• tours to local earthbuilding sites of interest in and around Santa Fe, New Mexico

• pre and post-conference earthbuilding workshops
